Lynn Suyeko Mandziuk

Lynn Suyeko Mandziuk is a Denver-based multi-disciplinary artist and professor at the University of Colorado Denver. First and foremost, Lynn considers herself a storyteller as well as a creative problem solver. While she is a Jill of all trades, she holds a BFA in Illustration (with a minor emphasis in animation) and a MFA in Illustration. She believes that all creative processes inform and influence creativity in other mediums, and has experience in illustration, fine art, graphic design, design for web and UI/UX, motion graphics and animation, music composition, sound design and music performance, acting, writing, marketing and rock climbing.

Lynn has over 16 years’ experience as a professional designer and illustrator, 5 years’ experience teaching as an art professor, and a lifetime of optimism and enthusiasm that keeps her moving. She has also played live music, acted in shorts, and writes every single day. Driven with an insatiable curiosity and fearlessness in charting the unknown, whether in everyday life or in the intellectual and creative realms. This allows for her to understand multiple mediums and thought processes and for her to not only be an innovative artist but a thoughtful educator.  She is adept in Design Thinking Iteration processes as well as creative strategy.

As a serious rock climber, Lynn spent the bulk of her 20’s and early 30’s living the nomadic rock-climbing existence, chasing seasons, and living out of a variety of different vehicles and trailers while pursuing a freelance career and honing her climbing skills. This brought her to the outdoor industry where she has worked with countless outdoor brands, as well as magazines like Rock and Ice, Climbing, and Ascent magazines.

Currently, Lynn is working on her craft as a creative storyteller and figuring out how to bridge the gap between traditional art formats into a modern technological realm. She is trying to find the most authentic format to tell her stories as well as others, be it through branding, illustration, writing, animation, or whatever is next on the agenda.
